Composite Fence Installation Using Existing Concrete Posts

At Joe Taylor Gardening Services, we carried out a fencing installation project for a residential client in Watnall, Nottingham. The client had an existing fence setup, but the old wooden panels had become tired, weathered and in need of replacement.

Instead of replacing the entire fence structure, we reused the original concrete posts and gravel boards. This approach saved the client money and reduced waste, making it both cost-effective and efficient.

The new composite boards we installed gave the fence a fresh and modern look, with added durability that timber panels simply can’t match.

Long-Lasting, Low Maintenance Fencing

Composite fencing is a great choice for homeowners looking for a long-lasting and low-maintenance option. Unlike timber, composite boards won’t rot, split or warp over time. They are also resistant to insect damage and don't require painting or staining.

For this project, the boards were slotted into the existing posts with precision. Each panel was secured firmly in place, resulting in a clean and solid finish.

The client chose a neutral shade that complemented the garden layout and made the space feel more structured and enclosed.

Reusing Concrete Posts & Gravel Boards

By keeping the existing concrete posts and gravel boards, we cut down on the labour and cost required to remove and dispose of old materials. These components were still in excellent condition and provided a strong foundation for the new fence panels.

We always check for structural integrity before reusing any existing fencing materials. In this case, the posts were upright, secure and free from cracks. This made them ideal for reuse.

Composite Fence Installation

The work was completed quickly and with minimal disruption to the client. We made sure the garden was kept tidy throughout, and we disposed of all the old timber responsibly once the job was complete.

Because we reused the original layout and spacing, there was no need for groundwork, digging, or concrete setting. This kept the fence installation process smooth and allowed for a neat, professional result in less time.

Improved Privacy

The composite panels now provide better privacy and wind resistance. They also look much smarter than the original timber, adding value to the property and improving the overall appearance of the garden.

The client was very pleased with the result, especially with how well the composite material tied into the rest of their outdoor space. The clean lines and uniform finish gave the fence a smart, modern edge.

Built To Withstand The Elements

Composite boards are built to handle it all types of weather -rain, wind, frost, and sun. The client now has peace of mind knowing the new fencing will stand the test of time with very little upkeep.

With no need for regular treatment or repair, composite fencing is ideal for busy homeowners who want a tidy garden without the maintenance that timber requires.
