We recently completed a composite fencing project in Bilborough, Nottingham, for a large domestic garden that required a more structured and low-maintenance boundary. The client wanted to replace their ageing hedge with something longer-lasting, modern in appearance, and easier to manage over time. After discussing the available options, they decided on a composite fencing system made up of concrete gravel boards, concrete posts and chocolate brown composite panels.

The first stage of the job involved removing the existing hedge and clearing the boundary line. Once the area was prepared, we set out the new fence layout, making sure everything was aligned correctly and suitable for the size and shape of the garden.

Strong Concrete Structure With Smart Composite Finish

The composite fencing system we installed consisted of light concrete gravel boards and concrete posts, creating a strong foundation for the darker composite panels. The contrast between the light concrete’s textured brick-effect and the rich chocolate brown composite boards gave the garden a bold and attractive finish. This setup works particularly well in larger spaces, where the mix of materials helps break up long fence runs visually.

Each panel was slotted into place securely, with the concrete framework offering stability and protection against movement over time. Composite boards are a great choice for homeowners who want the look of timber without the need for painting, staining or regular upkeep. The finish is clean, uniform and well suited to modern gardens.

Adjusting For Uneven Ground

The garden had a noticeable slope at the rear boundary, which required extra attention during installation. To make sure the fence remained level across the top, we stepped the panels gradually, adjusting the height of the gravel boards to compensate for the changing ground level.

This approach meant the fence still followed the shape of the garden but retained a consistent appearance when viewed from either side. It also helped avoid large gaps underneath the fence, resulting in a tidy and secure boundary all the way around.

Long-Lasting, Low-Maintenance Solution

With the hedge removed and the new composite fencing in place, the garden now benefits from a much neater and more defined perimeter. The materials used won’t warp, rot or discolour like timber, meaning the fence will keep its good looks with nothing more than the occasional clean.

At Joe Taylor Gardening Services, we take pride in delivering practical fencing solutions that also improve the appearance of your outdoor space. This project in Bilborough, Nottingham shows how composite fencing can provide strength, style and simplicity in one solution.
